Intermediate Handbuilding
Thursday, 6:15 pm
March 27th – May 15th | Ages 16-99+

Beginner Handbuilding courses are preferred before registering for this class.

Develop more advanced handbuilding techniques and enhance your skills previously learned from earlier attended handbuilding courses to help create more complex form of both functional and sculptural work. Students will explore advanced pinching, coiling, slab making, and surface alteration as they work on teacher-led projects and practices.

Students are required to follow the instructor’s curriculum. Only work produced from that curriculum will be fired

No makeup classes will be made available in the case of illness or inclement weather.

Supply List

Students will need to bring:

  1. Own set of clay tools
  2. Small clay work sponge
  3. Approx. 2ft x 2ft piece of Canvas
  4. (Optional but recommended) Small/detail paintbrushes for glazing
  5. (Optional but recommended) Plastic bags for wrapping work

Students will be provided:

  1. Shelf space as close to their creation station as possible
  2. (1x) bag of clay

Beginner Handbuilding
Wednesdays, 10:00 am
March 26th – May 14th | Ages 16-99+

Learn the uniquely expressive qualities of clay to create pottery and sculpture.  Develop various hand-building techniques including pinching, coiling, and slab-making.  Students will create beautifully glazed and fired ceramic ware as they work on teacher-led projects and practices.

Students are required to follow the instructor’s curriculum. Only work produced from that curriculum will be fired.

Beginner Sculpture: Animal Studies
Monday, 6:30 pm
March 24 – May 12 | Ages 16-99+

Dip your hands into the world of ceramic sculpture! Learn how to use handbuilding techniques and underglaze decoration to create sculptures of household pets or even your favorite wild animal! This beginner level class introduces sculpting techniques to students who have had prior experience with clay working.

Students are required to follow the instructor’s curriculum. Only work produced from that curriculum will be fired.
